Why this is happening: Intuit Sync Manager encountered an issue while connecting to your company file because it did not have the right credentials to access your company file.

How to fix it: Intuit recommends 2 solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try both to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Solution 1: Be sure that the correct company file is being synced

  1. Open Intuit Sync Manager, click Options, then select Show Details.
  2. Right-click the company name, then select Company Info.
  3. Confirm that the path listed under Location is correct.
  4. Go to that folder on your system and do one of the following:
  5. Replace the current company file with the original company file, then retry the sync.
  6. If you want to sync the current company file instead of the original one, then set up the current company file for sync.

Solution 2: Reset Intuit Sync Manager

Use this solution if you tried to reset data sync but it did not complete.

  1. In QuickBooks, click Help > Manage Data Sync > Reset Intuit Sync Manager.
  2. In the message that appears, click Reset Data Sync.
  3. Sign into Intuit Sync Manager using your Intuit account information for this company file and follow the workflow to complete the setup.
